Just when I think my bank balance is safe you come out with more cool but expensive stuff. And you know damn well that as soon as I see Mazda on a model of a racer you’ve pretty much guaranteed yourselves a sale.
At least the Audis were cheap. RS2 FTMFW.

That RS2 looks more like a B6 S4 actually.

When I finally found the Audi I bought two. One for my kid to trash and one for my shelf.
This is my new favorite

Was playing GT4 this weekend with my daughter. We won a Mazda 787B. Now this isn’t unusual as I’ve won it before, but the one we got was without livery, it was just a jet black 787B with Mazda decals. Looked like this:

It's the stealth livery.

Gotta love that plate.
They never had tampo with such intricate detail when I was a child. We are living in a golden age.

Sorry to be a buzzkill, but it’s actually the old C5 RS6 (still a brilliant casting) with oddly incorrect card art. Still, I have heard that an RS2 is in the works (maybe why the card art is off), but it’s not quite here yet!

I guess you weren’t born in the 80's.
(The wheels ARE correct. They’re meant to mimic pizza wheels.)
But wait! What’s up with that opening hood?
“That’s not detail-oriented !”
Sure looks like a Turbo 1 airbox and the correct layout there to me.

The Cadillac cien on one of the special occasion tracks would win a Toyota RCP or something that’s how I bought all the black cars.

No, born in the ‘60s. Back in my day, this is what we had:
Garish, ill-proportioned, and not a lot of attention paid to headlights/taillights/logos. Thankfully most of that ugliness could be wiped away with a little lacquer thinner (don’t get it near the windows) and you have a much better looking model, although in the long run that probably negatively affects the value. But when I would buy these they were as toys, not investments.
Matchbox was always better than Hot Wheels when it came to accuracy and detail. That first Daytona looks pretty accurate, with an accurate paint job , but the second one doesn’t look like anything that would have rolled out of the factory. But no logos, no lights, no minor stuff like that that make a difference.

Yeah, I figured it was probably something like that as it didn’t really have the proper squatty body proportions of a real RS2 (B4 chassis) . But like you said, it’s a brilliant casting and the level of detail is quite impressive for something so small and inexpensive.

Target. I've never seen them before, but a guy I was chatting with said he saw them two weeks ago at Wally World.
